How to Solve The HP P2035 P2055 Printer Grinding or Humming After Replacing The Fuser.
If you hear a grinding or humming noise after replacing the P2035-P2055 fuser, this indicates that the swing arm (part number RC2-6242) which is located at the rear of the main drive assembly is worn and needs to be replaced.
You might think that the fuser you just installed is the culprit since you just installed it and now you are hearing a noise that wasn’t there before. The reason that the noise wasn’t there before was that the old fuser gear and the swing arm gear have gradually
worn together over the years without any noise issues.
When you install the new fuser, which has a new drive gear on it, and it mates
with the worn swing gear it makes a humming noise.
Disassemble the printer and remove the main drive. You can then remove the old swing arm and install the new one onto the main drive. The two new gears will work silently together, as expected.
