You ohm out the fuser, but the fuser ohms out fine. Installing the fuser into another Lexmark Printer throws up a 920 error there as well. Try recrimping the connector going to the top cover. Over time this contact loosens up.

It will ohm out fine as it is making contact, but when the lamp needs power, the lack of a good connection will cause the lamp to warm up too slowly. When the lamp doesn’t warm up in the allotted time, the creates a 920 error. Using a pliers, all you need to do is crimp the connector a bit tighter so it contacts with the blade on the top cover tighter.

Having jamming issues? Check the sensors to ensure they are moving freely and not sticking or

binding. Check to make sure there are no obstructions in the paper path (melted toner and

label residue are fairly common causes for jamming). If the printer is very dirty inside, you may want to check to ensure the sensor and flags are not covered in debris. This debris can prevent the beam of light from being sensed. The photos below show

jamming problems.

We’re inspecting sensors in our Fuser Rebuild dept. to prevent false jams in the future. We’re also crimping the connector to prevent the dreaded 920 errors.

So you should see some

major improvements with your

next fuser.
