How To Replace HP M601, M602, M603, Printer Formatter Board

The formatter board of the HP LaserJet Enterprise M600 Printer Series is a customer self replacement part. It is necessary to follow the procedures below in order to replace and reinstall the formatter and recover the printer information. Please follow the procedure as shown below:


- Grab the formatter cover - Pull the cover straight back and away from the product

- Remove the thumb screws - Remove the formatter cover and formatter cage


- Remove the hard drive support and the hard drive cable


- Install the hard drive (with the support and cable) and the memory Dimm from the discarded formatter board on the new formatter board. - Install the new formatter board. - Then turn on the product and then wait for five minutes once the product has reached the Ready state.

NOTE: Five minutes are required to allow for NVRAM settings to be written. • Turn the product off.

Print a configuration page to verify against original settings.
