HP LaserJet 2100 series

An NVRAM initialization reinitializes NVRAM and sets all system parameters to the factory defaults. To perform an NVRAM initialization, turn the printer power off, then press and hold the JOB CANCEL button. Turn the printer power back on and continue to hold the JOB CANCEL button for 20 or more seconds after all of the LEDs come on. The NVRAM initialization starts once the JOB CANCEL button is released (any time after 20 seconds). The control panel cycles the LEDs from front to back until the NVRAM initialization is complete.

HP LaserJet 2200 series

This feature will reinitialize NVRAM and set all system parameters to the factory defaults. During the NVRAM initilization process, all button presses will be ignored. To perform a NVRAM initialization: Turn the printer power off. Press and hold GO. Turn the printer power back on and continue to hold GO until the Attention, Ready, and Go lights turn on. Release GO. The device lights will begin cycling from font to rear. The NVRAM initilization will run until completion and the device will go to the ready state.

HP LaserJet 2300 series

Before performing a hard-disk initialization, print a menu map and a configuration page. Use the information on the configuration page to reset any customer-set printer configuration values that the hard disk initialization procedure changes. Performing an NVRAM initialization clears the NVRAM of all control panel settings including the following:  Model number, Serial number, Service ID, usage data (such as page counts, number of copies count, maintenance counts), Event log. To perform an NVRAM initialization, complete the following steps: Turn off the printer, Press and hold (DOWN arrow), and turn on the printer. When all three status lights are lit, release (DOWN arrow) and press (UP arrow), press PAUSE/RELEASE. The first item of a menu appears, use (UP arrow) or (DOWN arrow) to scroll to NVRAM INIT, and press (SELECT).

HP LaserJet 1320 series

Only perform the following procedure if absolutely necessary. Performing an NVRAM initialization resets some parameters that cannot be restored later. NVRAM initialization sets all default variables stored in NVRAM back to factory default values or to a default ROM value, depending on the variable. It also performs a system reset. NVRAM initialization resets the following: All menu settings to factory default values Factory settings such as formatter number, page counts, and factory paper settings to perform NVRAM initialization Turn the printer off. Press and hold down the GO button. Turn the printer on, and continue to hold the GO button for at least 20 seconds. During this process, the GO button, Attention, and Ready LEDs each turn on. Release the GO button. The printer LEDs will begin cycling. The NVRAM unit process runs until the printer is in the ready state.

HP LaserJet 2400 series

To initialize NVRAM, Remove any installed accessories (for example, a stapler/stacker). Turn the printer off. Turn the printer on. When the printer begins its memory count, press and hold down the up Arrow ( ) button until all three printer control-panel lights flash once and then remain on. This might take up to 10 seconds. Press the Down Arrow ( ) button. Press the Menu button. The display should show FULL NVRAM INIT. Press the Select ( ) button. The printer initializes NVRAM and then continues its power-on sequence.

HP LaserJet 5100 series

This procedure will clean up the NVRAM by removing old areas that are not being used. Turn off the printer. While pressing [CANCEL JOB], turn the printer on. CLEANUP NVRAM appears briefly on the display, followed by INITIALIZING. After a few seconds READY appears.

HP LaserJet 5200 series

To initialize NVRAM: Remove any installed accessories (such as the EIO card). Turn the printer off. Turn the printer on. When the printer begins its memory count, press and hold down until all three printer control-panel lights flash once and then remain on. This might take up to 10 seconds. Press DOWN. Press The control-panel display should show NVRAM INIT. The printer initializes NVRAM and then continues its power-on sequence.

HP LaserJet 4000 series

This procedure will clean up the NVRAM by removing old areas that are not being used. Turn off the printer while pressing [Cancel Job] turn the printer on. CLEANUP NVRAM appears briefly on the display, followed by INITIALIZING. After a few seconds READY appears.

HP LaserJet 4100 series

Clearing NVRAM this procedure will clean up the NVRAM by removing old areas that are not being used. Turn off the printer, hold down the CANCEL JOB key, and then turn on the printer, when CLEANUP NVRAM appears on the control panel display, release the CANCEL JOB key.

HP LaserJet 4200 & 4300 series

To initialize NVRAM, remove any installed accessories (for example, a stapler/stacker), turn the printer power off, hold down the DOWN ARROW ( ) button, and then turn the printer power on, continue holding down the DOWN ARROW ( ) button until all three printer control panel lights flash once and then remain on. This might take up to 10 seconds.  Press the UP ARROW ( ) button. Press the PAUSE/RESUME button. The display should show SKIP DISK LOAD. Press the UP ARROW ( ) button until NVRAM INIT is highlighted. Press the SELECT ( ) button. The printer initializes NVRAM and then continues its power-on sequence.

HP LaserJet 4250 & 4350 Series

To initialize NVRAM, turn the printer power off. Remove any installed accessories (for example, a stapler/stacker).  Turn the printer power on, and then hold down (SELECT button) when the memory count begins. Continue holding down until all three printer control-panel lights flash once and then remain on. This might take up to 10 seconds. Press (UP ARROW button). Press the PAUSE/RESUME button (LJ 4200/4300) or the MENU button (LJ 4250/4350). The display should show SKIP DISK LOAD. Press (UP ARROW button) until NVRAM INIT is highlighted. Press (SELECT button) the printer initializes NVRAM and then continues its power-on sequence.

HP LaserJet P4014 & P4015 series

Before initializing NVRAM, print a configuration page and a supplies status page to gather the following information. Total page count and serial number. Turn the product on and watch the control panel display when the display shows the memory count. Press and hold the down arrow until all three lights on the control panel are lit. Press the up arrow, press Menu the message SKIP DISK LOAD displays on the control panel. Press the up arrow until NVRAM INIT is highlighted, and then press OK. The product initializes NVRAM and then continues its power-on sequence.

HP LaserJet P3005 series

Remove any installed accessories. Turn the device off. Turn the device on. When the memory count begins, press and hold the DOWN button. Continue holding down the button until all three device control-panel lights flash once and then remain on. This might take up to 10 seconds. Press the UP button. Press the Menu button the display should show SKIP DISK LOAD. Press the button until NVRAM INIT is highlighted. Press the SELECT button and the device initializes NVRAM and then continues the power-on sequence.

HP LaserJet P2015 series

NVRAM initialization sets all default variables stored in NVRAM back to factory default values or to a default ROM value, depending on the variable. It also performs a system reset. NVRAM initialization resets the following. All menu settings to factory default values. Factory settings such as formatter number, page counts, and factory paper settings use the following procedure to perform an NVRAM initialization. Turn the printer off. Press and hold down the Go button. Turn the printer on, and continue to hold the Go button for at least 20 seconds. During this process, the Go button, Attention, and Ready LEDs each turn on. Release the Go button. The printer lights begin cycling. After the NVRAM initialization is complete, the printer returns to the ready state.

HP Color LaserJet 4600 series

To initialize NVRAM, turn the printer on and watch the control-panel display. When the display shows the memory count, press and hold until all three lights on the control panel are lit. Press the UP BUTTON. Press PAUSE/RESUME (HP Color LaserJet 4600 models) or MENU (HP Color LaserJet 4610n and 4650 models). The message SKIP DISK LOAD appears on the control-panel display. Press UP BUTTON until NVRAM INIT is highlighted. Press SELECT BUTTON the printer initializes NVRAM and then continues its power-on sequence.

HP Color LaserJet 4700 Series

Before initializing NVRAM, print a configuration page and a supplies status page to gather the following information, total page count and color page count and serial number. To initialize NVRAM, turn the printer on and watch the control panel display. When the display shows the memory count, press and hold until all three lights on the control panel are lit. Press UP BUTTON. Press Menu. The message SKIP DISK LOAD displays on the control panel. Press until NVRAM INIT is highlighted .Press SELECT BUTTON The printer initializes NVRAM and then continues its power-on sequence.

HP Color LaserJet 5500

Before initializing NVRAM, print a configuration page and a supplies status page to gather the following information, total page count and color page count transfer kit count fuser kit count serial number. To initialize NVRAM Turn the printer on and watch the control panel display, when the display begins showing the memory count, press and hold DOWN BUTTON until all three lights on the control panel are lit. Press the UP BUTTON. Press PAUSE/RESUME. The display should show SKIP DISK LOAD. Press UP BUTTON until NVRAM INIT is highlighted. Press the SELECT BUTTON. The printer will initialize NVRAM and then continue its power-on sequence.
