Updated: Feb 7

Solving Paper Jams In The HP P4015 Printer Before Replacing the Fuser In order of Probability

Paper jams are a common problem with laser printers, and the HP P4015 is no exception. If you're experiencing paper jams, there are a few things you can do to try to fix the problem before you have to replace the fuser.

  1. Replace or Inspect Pick Up / Separation Rollers Wipe Down

  2. Replace or Check for a sticking Tray 1 or Tray 2 Solenoid

  3. Replace or Check Registration Assembly

  4. Replace or Check Paper Feed Assy

  5. Replace or Check Paper Type for HP Non Approved

Here Are Some Additional Tips To Solve Paper Jams

  1. Check the paper tray. Make sure that the paper tray is loaded correctly and that the paper is not jammed in the tray. If the paper is jammed, you can try to gently remove it. If you can't remove the paper, you may need to replace the paper tray.

  2. Clean the paper path. Over time, dust and debris can build up in the paper path, which can cause paper jams. To clean the paper path, you can use a can of compressed air or a vacuum cleaner. Be sure to turn off the printer before you clean the paper path.

  3. Adjust the paper guides. The paper guides help to keep the paper in place as it feeds through the printer. If the paper guides are not adjusted correctly, the paper can jam. To adjust the paper guides, follow the instructions in your printer's manual.

If you need to replace the fuser, you can purchase a new fuser from a reputable source. Be sure to follow the instructions in your printer's manual when replacing the fuser.

How To Prevent Paper Jams:

  • Use high-quality paper. Low-quality paper can be more likely to jam.

  • Don't overload the paper tray. Overloading the paper tray can put stress on the paper feed system and cause jams.

  • Keep the printer clean. Dust and debris can build up inside the printer and cause jams.

  • Inspect the paper before you load it into the printer. Make sure that the paper is free of wrinkles, tears, or other defects.

  • If you experience a paper jam, don't force the paper. Forcing the paper can damage the printer.

By following these tips, you can help to prevent paper jams and keep your printer running smoothly.
