Metrofuser and the Environment

 

Metrofuser’s Whole Business Model is Based on Recycling and Reuse

Metrofuser reclaims, remanufactures then resells end of life components from office imaging machines such as laser printers and copiers. Our business model is designed around acquiring these assets which are otherwise destined for landfills and stripping components such as electronic boards, mechanical and electrical components from them. Once these components are removed, Metrofuser carefully remanufactures them to reintroduce the newly remanufactured part into the office IT ecosystem. Most of the components of these machines can be reused and reintroduced back into the ecosystem up to a half-dozen times. The residual effect of that alone significantly reduces the amount of electronic office equipment waste filling our landfills daily. 

 

Recycling through Remanufacturing

Metrofuser proactively collects and even purchases defective and end-of-life office machines and their components. Metrofuser feeds these assets into a comprehensive remanufacturing program, where they are rebuilt to a “like-new” state. Quite often, Metrofuser’s engineers resolve many of the original factory flaws, thus increasing the life of the component and enabling Metrofuser to provide a “better-than-OEM” component and longer-than-OEM warranty. Finally, these parts are sold on “Exchange” – Metrofuser’s customers are given a discounted price on the remanufactured component if they promptly send the defective component back for remanufacturing, completing the cycle.

 

Continued Commitment

Metrofuser’s recycling commitment does not end with it’s remanufacturing program. Most of the parts that are replaced within the remanufactured components are made from widely recycled plastics and metals such as aluminum, gold, tin, brass, etc. Each part that can be recycled is removed and sold to recyclers across the state and country. Metrofuser will always be committed to exploring new recycling opportunities. The company will continue to expand its program through by raising awareness and increasing the rate of electronics recycling among its business consumers in the United States. Optimally, the goal is to achieve a 100% recycling rate, and to improve and continue to expand the program until that goal is met. Last year the imaging recycling industry saved 131 million pounds of solid waste from our nation’s landfills.

Anti-Tear™ Technology-Metrofuser has developed an engineering upgrade that inhibits the fixing film delamination sleeved HP Fusing Assemblies. This proprietary upgrade has been implemented in the production of our fusers resulting in a 98% reduction in film failures. Service companies and resellers now have access to a low cost, high quality fuser that will not let them or their customers down.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Formatter Boards/Service Reset Codes

Metrofuser upgrades every board and printer's firmware to the most current revision when necessary. Our PC's are loaded with current drivers for testing all I/O ports. We take the time to ensure full functionality of every board we repair (parallel & serial interfaces, USB ports, network ports, expansion slots, feeder options, etc.)  Accessing the Service menu The Service menu is PIN-protected for added security. Only authorized service people have access to the Service menu. When you select SERVICE from the list of menus, you are prompted to enter your 8-digit PIN number. Use the service PINS below to access service mode when prompted.

 

1. Press up arrow or down arrow until the first digit of the PIN is displayed.

2. Press check to save the digit. The display will replace the digit with an asterisk.

3. Repeat steps 1 and 2 until all eight digits are entered.

4. Press check at any time to move to the previous digit.

Metrofuser Announces the Release of ZeroSet Technology for the Color LaserJet 4700/4730MFP Line of Printers. 

 

 

Metrofuser.com has introduced ZeroSet technology into their remanufactured HP LaserJet 4700 fusers. ZeroSet is a new remanufacturing solution that will automatically reset the fuser count to zero upon fuser installation. According to the HP LaserJet 4700 service manual, an OEM fuser "contains a fuseable link that is opened when a new fuser is first installed in the printer. This resets the page count of the fuser to zero."

About Remanufactured Fusers

 

 

WHAT IS A REMANUFACTURED FUSER?

Remanufactured fusers have been recycled and reprocessed from an original equipment manufacturer (OEM) core. The process differs by manufacturer and materials used with varying results in quality and page yields. Our remanufactured fusers are produced to stringent quality control standards, using lab-tested components to ensure consistent OEM-equivalent performance.

 

WHAT IS THE PROCESS?

A typical production process includes fuser core inspection, tear down then replacement of key components as needed such as the lower pressure roller, gear assembly, fixing assembly, bushings, entrance/delivery guide and film sleeve. One of the most critical elements of the fuser is the synthetic film undercoating.  New aftermarket components are made specially for remanufactures to have a harder and more durable surface than the OEM.

 

IS A REMANUFACTURED PART

INFERIOR TO A NEW ONE?

There should no difference in print quality or page replacement interval of a properly remanufactured fuser. Our fusers contain only quality fuser films, lower pressure rollers and other replacement parts to meet and most times exceed OEM performance. In January 2008 HP released a notice to all its customers declaring that it would not differentiate between new or remanufactured parts and that the customer could expect either when placing an order. If the OEMs believe the quality is equivalent so should the consumer.

 

 

 

 

 

WILL USING REMANUFACTURED PRINTER PARTS VOID MY EQUIPMENT WARRANTY?

Law prohibits manufactures from voiding their warranty obligations on the grounds: that the customer did not use the original manufacturer's replacement part. Manufactures can not legally require a printer owner or lessee verbally or otherwise to purchase parts exclusively new or from them. You have a right to choose.

 

AM I REALLY HELPING THE ENVIRONMENT BY

USING REMANUFACTURED FUSERS?

Definitely. Each discarded fuser adds approximately 5-10 pounds of unnecessary waste to our landfills - waste that will take as long as 1,000 years to decompose. It is estimated that 1 million fusers and maintenance kits are produced each year. Remanufacturing these parts will save an estimated 500,000 cubic feet of landfill space. The office products remanufacturing industry has already made a substantially positive impact on the environment and the economy and will continue to do so.

 

WHAT IF I EXPERIENCE A PRINT QUALITY ISSUE?

If a fuser does not meet expectations simply notify a customer service representative and return the part and a page sample showing the problem in the box it came in - Return it for evaluation and replacement. RETURN SHIPPING

All parts are shipped UPS Ground unless otherwise specified. To insure safe handling, Metrofuser returns all repaired product in protective customized packaging. Freight, handling, insurance, C.O.D. and customs charges are not the responsibility of Metrofuser. Affix the RA number to the outside of the box and ship to our address.

 

PAYMENT POLICIES

Credit terms are available to qualified customers. Ask your Account Manager how you may qualify. For your convenience, Metrofuser accepts C.O.D. terms, VISA, MasterCard or American Express. All New Jersey accounts must provide a tax exemption certificate.

 

Advance Exchange orders are credit card or terms only. Repairable cores must be returned to Metrofuser within 30 days or you will be charged for the difference between the exchange and new price. New parts may be returned to Metrofuser within 30 days from date of invoice; a re-stocking fee will apply.

 

RETURN POLICY

Metrofuser reserves the right to refuse any new OEM parts that are not returned in its original packaging within 90 days. To obtain full credit, returned packages must be unopened and UNMARKED. A restocking fee of $25 or 25% per item will be incurred for any returned parts which ever is higher. A $50.00 minimum is required for all orders.

 

100% WARRANTY

Most repaired, exchanged or refurbished parts are warranted to be in good working condition for six months from date of sale. Parts for resale have a 90 day warranty. Metrofuser reserves the right to deny any warranty claim if the item has sustained shipping damage, was improperly installed or mishandled, tampered with or malfunctioning for any reason other than the original failure identified and repaired by the company. Metrofuser will, at its option, repair the part or if available, send out a replacement part to accounts that are current.
