Occasionally these questions may even test a topic area that is not part of the exam objectives, and therefore is not covered in any of the training materials. Unscored questions are included in an exam to allow for the collection of preliminary psychometric data, which means data on test taker response to the questions that is used in the development of an exam. Candidates are notified in pre-exam documentation at the testing center when unscored questions are included in an exam.
